Do not promote these absurd ageist and sexist stereotypes | characters |

I am 68 and discovered the blatant ageism and sexism inside post (
My husband left me personally – for a mature woman
, group, 25 November) profoundly offensive.

The “older girl” (not yet 60) is actually – Jesus forbid – “nonetheless achieving for any henna locks dye despite her advancing many years”. She actually is “old sufficient to be my daughter’s grandmother … just how insulting, right? And what an outrage! … The embarrassment is damaging.” Without a doubt, the ex cannot be together with her caused by who the woman is or because he really locates the lady attractive, but because her age means they can be “free of responsibility or limits … it is far from just as if the guy found the passion for his existence and had to be true to himself. She had been merely an escape route”.

Are you aware that older girl: “She should have thought it absolutely was her fortunate day whenever a handsome, younger man confirmed a concern. Maybe she believed she was destined for a life by yourself, or to be caught with males of her own generation – with prostate problems and a cosy couple of slippers.” This might be these types of a ridiculous and incorrect label it could be laughable whether it weren’t very insulting. The author of this post should increase the woman perspectives and her head.

Just how old is it bad woman, anyway? “More than decade avove the age of me”. One other means round, that age difference would be unremarkable. Same old tedious double requirement. Shame on you, Guardian, for posting it.
